Well, after a certain well known international indie band decided they were too good to do any NZ interviews, The Brunettes managed to score the front cover of this month’s Real Groove. Hoo-rah.
The new album was finally released on Monday, which means the Brunettes PR machine is in full swing. I wish I played on the album (it was recorded over the last couple of years, so I kinda missed the boat by the time I joined the band), but the good thing is I can count it as one of my favorite records without sounding like a complete narcissist.
And it is. I really really like it. Love it maybe.
And even though I’m not on the album, I do get a little glory. If you order the CD from Lil’ Chief’s website you get a bonus colouring book. And just in the middle, right there in the back, just behind there, you can colour me in. Hah!
It’s now less than 3 weeks till we leave. I’ve really got to write a list of things to do before I go, because I can see it all compounding on the last day. We go for a visa meeting with the US Consulate in a week or so, where we’ll inevitably get interrogated as to WHY THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO THE STATES? WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE? WHERE ARE YOU STAYING? WHO DO YOU KNOW? WHAT DO YOU KNOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOUR? ARE YOU A TERRORIST?
I’m waiting for some sort of trick question designed to trip you up so they can deny you entry. Like they say “Supercelafrajalisticexpialadocious…. spell it.”… and you try to spell Supercelafrajalisticexpialadocious, and then they’re all “HAH, IT is spelt I T! HAH! YOU LOSE! YOU CAN’T GO ON TOUR YOU POOR LITTLE BOY!”
That certain scenario has been haunting my dreams.

RE dogs bowl in report (of what’s in garage) is a CATS bowl (Mischka’s) Music sounds awesome thru’ our garage door. (Gran and Jim) Good luck. You’ll need it for those distances!!!!!
