Not long to go

Well, we’ve now got just over 2 weeks to get our shit together. The Brunettes’ first gig in our national tour is on the 20th of April in Hamilton.
Ok, so Hamilton isn’t the most glamorous of places to start your national tour, but we figured we should probably have a bit of a practice gig before we perform to our home crowd at the Kings Arms on the 27th of April. No offense Hamiltonians.
From there it’s on to Palmerston North, Wellington, Dunedin, Christchurch, Hamilton again, Napier, and Devonport of all places. See the tour schedule on the right for dates and venues.
Her Hairagami Set, the first single off the album (called Structure and Cosmetics, by the way) has made its way to number 2 on the bFM top ten after being on playlist for a mere week. The choice thing is I neither wrote nor performed on the song, so I’m allowed to say it’s rad without sounding like a dick. I guess that’s all cancelled out by the fact I went and registered haydeneast.com though. Hah.
Tour dates for Australia, the US and the UK are yet to be confirmed because they rely on an album release date (which we don’t have yet. Do we have a finished album yet?). Anyway, we’re presuming we’ll be leaving at the end of June or start of July, which leaves me roughly 3 months of New Zealand to lather myself in before we go.
I’m managing to scrape by on minimal living costs at the moment, saving me a considerable amount of dosh each week. The savings account has never looked healthier. Perhaps I should always be about-to-go-overseas. Selling my car is breaking my heart though. I leave it sitting alone for 3 months, not even bothering to drive it, then when I finally decide I should get rid of it I fall in love with it again. That said, if you’re after a nice old car that drives well, look here.
What’s really making me shit my pants at the moment is the fact that my show in the comedy fest is only a month away. We’re still script writing at the moment, and haven’t had much time to look at promotion and stuff. Our ticket sales are sitting at 3. That said, once the ball gets rolling it should be sweet as, if not a little stressful since the show falls in between tour dates.
